Publisher
This service is published by Solar Beam Studio, a French SASU, SIREN 900 029 208. Publication director: Alexandre Frih. Contact: hello@solarbeam.studio.
Host
Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The machine is in Helsinki, Finland.
Sign-in codes
The code that signs you in is mailed by Resend (Resend, Inc., United States), which receives your email address and the code for that.
A server's address is public
Each server gets a certificate of its own from Let's Encrypt, and certificates are listed in public logs: the address of a server, which carries its name, can be found by anyone. Do not put a secret in a name.
Visits
Visits of these pages (never of a server) are counted by Zenhook Sites, a tool of Solar Beam Studio hosted by Hetzner in Finland, with no cookie and no identifier in your browser: the page viewed, the site you came from, the country and the kind of device. The fingerprint that avoids counting you twice changes every day: nobody is followed from one day to the next.
Your rights
To read, correct or erase what a server holds about you, write to hello@solarbeam.studio with the server's address. You can also turn to the French data protection authority (CNIL, cnil.fr).
What a server keeps
A server keeps what its members put in it: the name each one chose, the messages and the pictures, until someone deletes them. An email address is kept only if you save your account with one, and it is never shown to other members. There is no password: a device is known by a key made in its browser, and the server keeps the public half of it.
In your browser
No cookie. Your browser keeps the key that says who you are, the servers you joined and your settings (theme, sounds, microphone and camera). Clearing the site's data removes them.
Calls
Voices, cameras and shared screens pass through the host's media server to reach the others in the channel. Nothing of a call is recorded.
What the host can read
Messages are not encrypted end to end: the host of a server can open what is written in it.
What the host counts
How many people open the page where a server is created (each network address once a day; the address is held in memory that day and never written), how many servers are created, and for each server: whether its creator came in, whether a second person did, whether a call of two took place, how many members it has and when something was last written. Never a name, a network address or anything written.
Who can come in
A server is listed nowhere and no search engine is given its pages. Its address alone lets nobody new in: someone new comes with the invitation link, which carries a key. Whoever has that link can come in, so send it to your group only. Its admin and its moderators can remove or ban anyone.
The rules
A server is a place for a group to talk. Nothing the law forbids, and nothing meant to harm someone. The host can close a server that breaks this, without notice.
Having something removed
You delete your own messages; an admin or a moderator deletes any message of their server. To have a server removed, or to report one, write to the host with the server's address.
No promise
The servers created here are free and come as they are: nothing promises that one stays up, or that what is in it is never lost. Keep elsewhere what you cannot lose.
